ANDERSON

TOWNSHIP

This living room renovation was part of an overall remodel of the first floor (see the rest in the Kitchens section!).  We removed the carpeting and installed new hardwood, finger jointing it into the existing planks, then refinished all the hardwood throughout the first floor.  Next, we we installed new baseboards throughout the first floor.  Finally, we installed a fireplace, television, and a floating butcher block hearth.

ROBIN WAY,

ANDERSON

This house originally had a Champion sun room on the back, but the owner decided they wanted more functionality. So we removed the sun room and built a new room in its place. We also put a ceiling over the entire porch, giving it much-needed shade and shelter.

NEW RICHMOND,

OHIO

What a difference a change in the site line from the kitchen to the living room makes! We knocked down the three walls and removed the door surrounding the stairs, and also removed a large header and two pass-throughs.  This required us to relocate several light switches and outlets in the process.  Finally, we painted the knee wall and capped it with Poplar wood.

ROYAL GREEN,

ANDERSON

Replacing the wainscoting in this dining room made a tremendous difference!  We took out the existing wainscoting and built new pieces from scratch. Drywall was put up as the base, and we then tacked five strips of wood trim to it.  Next, we put in the top trim pieces and the baseboard, and installed new trim on the doors and windows to match.  A couple of coats of paint later, it feels like an entirely new room!

ERIE AVE,

HYDE PARK

This condo in Hyde Park had a common problem: the color of the walls made it seem too dark! We removed a wall and the field stone hearth, and then built in new shelving. After a fresh coat of white paint, we installed a slate, 16 foot long floating hearth. Combine this with better lighting and window access, and the room is lit up like never before!
